Fortaleza
Fortaleza the capital of the State of Ceará is an important port and tourist center, and the fifth largest city in Brazil.
The city grew from Fort Schoonenborch, founded by the Dutch in 1649, at the mouth of the Pajeú River in Mucuripe Bay, when a few years later, in 1654, the fort fell to the Portuguese, who renamed it Fortress of Our Lady of the Assumption the seat of a captaincy.
Fortaleza is today famous throughout Brazil for its leather goods and textiles.
Fortaleza is one of the three main cities in the Northeast region, together with Recife and Salvador.
To add to all this, it is important to mention that Brazil is free of natural disasters, and is a country with a low cost of living.
Tourism

What attracts so many foreigners and Brazilians to Fortaleza is a combination of sunny beaches, bustling and safe nightlife, delicious cuisine, rich Brazilian culture, very peaceful and friendly people.
Much culture is present in the downtown area of Fortaleza, although it is understandable that the beaches are the biggest attraction for tourists. Praia de Iracema is a very busy part of the city and the atmosphere of the night life is excellent.
Close by, Meireles Beach is a very popular beach that offers some of the best accommodations available. The port of Mucuripe comes next, followed by Praia do Futuro, where everyone agrees to be Mor beach.

From the fishing comes the lobster, the numerous varieties of fish, shrimp, crab and dishes such as fish, shrimp stew with garlic and oil, boiled crab, breaded skirt and crabcakes.
Of the agricultural production stand out sweet potatoes, coconut and corn, responsible for cakes, couscous, mungunzá, canjica, pamonha, pé-de-moleque and the own cooked or roasted corn. Beans and rice offer one of the most typical dishes of the region: "baião-de-dois" with butter and rennet cheese.
Weather
The climate is tropical, warm, with an annual average temperature of 26.5 ° C, being December to January the warmest months and July the coldest, but with minimum temperature differences. In Fortaleza, summer lasts all year long.
Even in the colder months, from May to July, when the temperature in the states of South and Southeast reaches less than ten degrees, the average temperature in Fortaleza is above 25 degrees.
Fortaleza has two well-defined seasons: the second half is quite dry, while the first is a little more rainy. People in the Northeast refer to the rainy season as 'winter', although it is in fact summer and fall.
In the city the winds usually reach 12 to 14 kilometers per hour. However, it is during August, September and October that there is a strong variation in intensity.
Thus, in those months, the average speed of the winds is around 40 kilometers per hour.
After the rainy season, the so-called trade winds are closer to the equator, causing wind. The average wind speed at this time of year in Fortaleza is 40 km / h, but there are also wind gusts up to 70 km / h throughout the day.
