Newly renovated in June 2018 and located 500 metres from Ljubljana Bus and Train Station, Hostel Celica Art is a unique design hostel situated in the autonomous culture zone Metelkova City in the centre of Ljubljana. Free WiFi is provided in all areas.
The rooms and dormitories in this hostel have been individually designed by different local and international artists and reflect the history of this former prison. Bed linen and towels are provided free of charge to all guests, while shared or private bathrooms come with a shower.
Hostel Celica Art serves a buffet breakfast daily. Guests can relax and meet new people in the cafe, garden terrace and other common areas. Bike hire is available on site, while various day trips and tours can be booked at the reception.
The historic centre of Ljubljana can be reached in 1.2 km, while Tivoli Park is at a distance of 1.7 km. The hostel also features the Museum of Confinement and an art gallery, as well as the Point of Peace spiritual room.
Ljubljana Airport is 32 km away, and the property can organize shuttle transfer upon request and at a surcharge. Free public parking is provided nearby. The Point of Peace, the room for prayer, meditation and contemplation and other spiritual activities is situated on the first floor. It has 6 niches of major global religions and one empty niche for all other religions and has been blessed by the religion's highest representatives in Slovenia.
Hostel Celica offers a lively cultural life. Every Tuesday night a concert followed by a jam session welcomes international musicians.
The hostel's art gallery Srecisce on the ground floor regularly hosts international art exhibitions. Additionally, the cultural programme includes workshops, poetry readings, debates and presentations on various themes from literature, philosophy, music to nature, aesthetics and history.
Every day at 14:00 a free guided tour of the hostel takes place.
The hostels ground floor, apart from the Oriental Café, is wheelchair-friendly.
