Seventeen miles from York and just 3 miles from Castle Howard, the 2-bedroom cottage Easthorpe Lodge provides stylishly appointed accommodation near the market town of Malton. In the Howardian Hills, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this 19th-century cottage offers free on-site parking and Wi-Fi.

Sleeping up to 4 guests in a double and twin bedroom, the couple and family-friendly Easthorpe Lodge also provides a cot, a spacious garden with room to play, and baby and toddler equipment including high chairs, baby monitor and steriliser. The bathroom has a bath with overhead shower and hairdryer.

The south-facing living room has a flat-screen TV, DVD player and iPod dock, and there is a sofa-bed and fold-out bed if required. Malton is known as Yorkshire’s food capital, with an annual food festival and regular markets, and is home to a restaurant owned by top UK chef James Martin. Charles Dickens was a regular visitor, writing ‘A Christmas Carol’ while in Malton, and you can now follow the town’s Dickens Trail.
